Things that Dangle

Lori, over at "Clearly I Stamp" posted a "Clear Dollar " challenge to add something that dangles to your projects. This challenge was so much fun that I created four projects. Here is my first. I have several items that dangle. I used tissue paper for the pompoms and attached my tags with embroidery floss that hangs on the brads and star punches. Above is a closeup detail. For this project I used Bazzil CS, Provo Craft "Americana" patterned paper, Stampendous "Changito Cheer,"Nestabilities, and Creative Memories star punches. My next card has a beach theme. I stitched around the edges and added dangly beads and shells. I attached the beads and shells to a brad with copper colored wire which I twisted into random swirls. For this project I chose Colorworks CS, DCWV patterned paper from "The Spring Stack,"flip flop stamp from Michaels's, and rhinestones from Queen & Co. I'm ready for warm weather! I attached my bees to pop dots and added dangly patterned swirls of flight with copper colored wire. I used Bazzil and The Paper Company CS, DCWV patterned paper from "The Spring Stack, and stamps from Studio g and Penny Black "Constellations." My final project is a mini tote bag. I designed and made the template myself, and I am pleased with the way it turned out. I made the paper ribbon by repeat stamping the floral design across the ribbon and then coloring. My dangle is a ladybug button that I purchased. I cut the shank off the back and attached it to the ribbon with a pop dot. I used Bazzil CS, Scrapworks "Formal Affair" patterned paper, Martha Stewart doily punch, DaisyD's flowers, Michael's ribbon, and studio g stamps. These projects were so much fun! Add something that dangles to your next project!

Last Entries for Design Team

I made a card and gift set as my last entries for Lauren Meader's design team. I used the sketch "my timess30" and added a twist by turning it upside down. I used Bazzil paper, Iced Got Flowers? (which I colored with Marvy markers), pink ribbon from Hobby Lobby, and pink pearls and sentiment from Archiver's. I also used pop dots from my stash. My inspiration was "Enchanted Orchid" shower gel from Bath and Body Works. You can see the bottle on the right side of the photo. I used Lauren's "Captured Card Case" template for the gift set. In addition to items on the card, I used flowers from Garden Ridge and a digital download from Squigglefly. I then colored the hummingbird and outlined it with a gel pen. I used my Creative Memories cutting system to cut an oval and then I added an acetate window. Inside the box are some bath salts tablets that I got at Michel's for $1.00. The heart shaped box contains soap rose petals which I got at the Dollar Tree for $1.00. I just love a bargain! You would never guess how inexpensive this gift set was (unless you read my blog! LOL). I covered the sides of the box with paper from a stack that I purchased at Michael's and used my Hobby Lobby Ribbon for the bow. I used paper from the same stack and ribbon to line the box. If I spend time making a gift, I like it to be pretty on the inside too! This gift smells so good! I think it would make a nice hostess gift if you were going to someone's house for dinner. It could even be a door prize for a shower or Girls' Night Get-Together.

Design Team Challenges and Entries

Edit Posts Here are my Design Team entries for Lauren Meader's blog. The first sketch was called "Oldie but Goodie." I used "Safari Chic" paper and ribbon from DCWV. My images are "Mindy's Zoo" from Stampology. Brads and pop dots are from my stash purchased at Michael's. I used StazOn to ink around the edges of my squares. I just love this Safari paper! It makes me want to go to the zoo! The second sketch was mytimess 30. Gotta love cupcakes! I used Bazzil cardstock and paper from the Spring Stack DCWV. Rickrack and ribbon were from my stash. glitter pens were from Hobby Lobby. The last sketch was mytimess31. I love the way this one turned out. It just sings "Spring!" I used Bazzill cardstock and Spring Stack paper from DCWV. I used a swirly Cuttlebug folder to emboss my cardstock. Ribbon and stamps were from Hobby Lobby and pearls from Archiver's. Well, these are my entries. Only one sketch needed to be submitted, but I am an overachiever! What can I say?

First "My Timeless Templates Challenge!"

I am so excited! Lauren Meader is hosting her first ever Timeless Templates Challenge! I have purchased several of her templates, and I love them! That girl has TALENT! The challenge was to choose a bath product as an inspiration piece. I chose Midnight Pomegranate from Bath and Body Works. I made a tabletop set for a picnic with napkins, forks, and handsoap. Here are views from the front and side. For this project I used Bazzil dotted swiss and textured paper. My printed paper was from the new DCWV Spring Collection. Ribbon is by Ribbon FX. The rubber stamp is from Studio g. I didn't like the look of the pump at the top of the soap dispenser, so I made a little collar for it. Did you know that you can color florist wire with StazOn? That's what I did for my ladybugs' antennae! I love the way my project turned out, and now I feel like going on a picnic!

Spring Has Sprung!

I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE Michael's bargain bin! I found this chipboard butterfly album for just $1.00! Can you believe it? Butterflies soooo remind me of Spring! I covered the chipboard with So-So-Sweet paper from "The Paper Studio" and tied ribbons to the ring. Adorable!

Just Beginning

Several people have told me that I need to create a blog, so finally.... I have begun.
