S2G Twisted Thursday Birthday Bash Continues!

This is the last week of S2G's First month long Birthday Bash! I hope you have enjoyed our celebration, and that you will participate in this week's Twisted Thursday Challenge. The Challenge is to make a card and use HOT PINK...anything HOT PINK.. ribbon, DP, CS, etc. Be creative! The DT was given a Crown template and the new Birthday Icon digis for this project. Two sisters, Deidre and Kristine, own Shirley's 2 Girls, so I made two crowns. Here is the first:
I embossed the crown in a Provo Craft folder, and cut the hearts and circles using Nesties and Creative Memories Heart punches. DP is from the new Birthday line of papers from S2G. I glued a plastic headband that I bought at Dollar General (6/$1) to the back of the crown using Fabri-Tac glue. The headband makes the crown more durable and comfortable to wear. I know, because I tried it out! :D
I used more S2G Birthday icons on this crown along with Birthday DP from S2G. The small stars were cut with Creative Memories Star punches. I added sequins and rhinestones for bling.
Every designer needs a model and here is mine: Snowbella! Isn't she lovely! She is a Snow Lady with Attitude!

Who says you can't mix snow sculpting and papercrafting? LOL We have had so much snow this winter, and finally got snow that "sticks"!.... Perfect for Snowgirl building. I couldn't let all of that snow go to waste, could I?
I hope you'll join us in this week's TT Challenge! I'd love to see what you create using HOT PINK. Upload your project using Mr. Linky at the S2G Challenge Blog. You can win your choice of a free digi from the S2G Shop and a Winner's Badge for your blog! Need inspiration? Check out the fun and creative projects our DT has created! A lot of "Party Animals" were great models for their crowns!  :D Their links are in my sidebar. Be sure to enter! You only need to make a card for this week's TT challenge, but if you are inspired to make a crown, the template is below. Be sure to use HOT PINK, a little or a lot!

Ahoy, Matey! It's Softpencil Thursday!

This is one of the new Softpencil images by Elizabeth Pujalka. It is "A Sweet Pirate"...and how sweet he is! Does the little pirate's bandana look familiar? It is part of one of the Mandalas created by Elizabeth's very talented sister, Natalia! We were also asked to use our favorite coloring medium to color the image. I used Copics on mine. My daughters gave me some of the "Cadillac of Markers" for Christmas and my recent birthday. I still like watercolor pencils though, and I often use a combination of the two mediums. The DT was divided into three teams this week, and each team was given a different image. Elizabeth will now be sponsoring different challenge blogs each week, so check out her blog here to see which challenges are featuring Softpencil images as prizes. Check out the adorable images while you're there! I know you'll see something you'll just LOVE! You can also find Natlaia's Mandalas there too. There are several to choose from. Remember, the DT has different images, so take a look, and be inspired! Their links are in my sidebar.
CS is Bazzill, DP is The Paper Studio. Sentiment is Pink Cat Studio.

And the Winner is........

Melissa S.
who said, "Wow! I love balloons! Every year my Hubby always buys me a balloon (or 20)."
Melissa's name was chosen by random.org and she is the winner from my blog of the digital Birthday Banner Letters. Congratulations!

Hoppy Spring!

Isn't he cute? My friend Georgia gave him to me along with some other goodies and a list of challenges.
We have a group of friends, "The Flip Flop Girls", and we are meeting this Friday for the Third Annual Flip Flop Awards. This is my entry for the "Spring" card. I don't know who made the image. CS is Bazzill, DP is Creative Memories, and ribbon is Hobby Lobby. I also used a Nesties and pop dots. I colored the dots on the ribbon orange. They were originally pink. I still have more projects to make before the big night. This card also fits:
1. Stamptacular Sunday- Going in Circles

Simon Says, "Recipe!"

The recipe is:
3 TYPES OF EMBELLISHMENTS
2 PATTERNED PAPERS you can also use coordinating cardstock :-)
1 IMAGE

Here are the "ingredients" I chose:
3 embellishments: ribbon, flowers, pearls
2 Patterned Papers: DCWV (Spring Stack) pink heart and pink swirl papers
1 Image: Stampabilities House Mouse Stamp: Mudpie Holds Jellybeans

I love this cute little stamp! Jellybeans remind me of childhood Easter baskets! I chose soft pastel colors that remind me of Spring. Nesties and a MS punch were used for added interest. The lacy heart border was punched from the same piece of PP that was used for the inner oval. This card is for the Simon Says Stamp Challenge and Blog Hop.

S2G Twisted Thursday! Shake! Shake! Shake!

S2G's Birthday Celebration continues!
Today, we are showcasing Shaker Cards!
I used the digital image "Whee!". As soon as I saw this image I thought it would make the perfect shaker card! The little girl is being carried away by three balloons. I decided to turn the middle balloon into a shaker. I placed one of the new birthday icons inside. The shaker is filled with confetti and white glitter. I like to add glitter to shakers because it cuts down on the static that causes the glitter to cling to the acetate. The presents were cut from birthday icons and added to the card with pop dots. I think it looks like the little girl is floating in the sky, and presents are falling around her. DP is  some of the new S2G birthday paper. CS is Bazzill and Glitter CS from The Paper Studio.
I also made this shaker card using images from the digi image "Party Guests". I hope you'll join us in this week's challenge and make a shaker card. The twist is to add confetti. I'd love to see what you create! You could also win a free digi image of your choice from S2G and a Winner's Badge for your blog. Post a direct link to your card using Mr. Linky at the S2G Challenge Page. Have you seen the new S2G Shop? Take a look! You'll find all of the new Birthday images there! All clear stamps are on clearance sale at 50% off. Take a look at the rest of the shaker cards created by our very talented DT. They will surely inspire you! Their links are in my sidebar. Looking forward to seeing your cards!
Don't Forget!

It's a Softpencil "Bichitos" Thursday!

This week the Softpencil DT received Elizabeth's newest release the "Bichitos" set. I googled bichitos for the translation in Spanish. I sort of knew what it meant from the pictures, but I wanted to be sure. It is a little insect or a small creature. Well, Elizabeth's bichitos are adorably cute!
This week's challenge is an ABC (Anything But a Card) Challenge....My very favorite! I have been wanting to make a mailbox for a while. I looked on line and found several. I even purchased two templates, but neithe of them was exactly what I was looking for, so I decided to design my own. Mine is quite large. It's 7 1/2 inches long and 3 3/4 inches high. The set comes with five insects, a snail, and two flowers.
This set is so cute! It just says "Spring" to me. There are six inches of snow on the lawn, but inside my craft room it's Spring! After matting the gingham print, I added vines to the mailbox. I made them with a Cricut "Joys of the Season" cartridge. I attached all of the little creatures with pop dots. They were so much fun to color!
This is the right side of the mailbox. I layered the pink flowers on double sided DCS by K and Company. Then I clipped in from the side to the center and curled the sides up. On some of the flowers I made two sizes and then layered the smaller on top of the larger. Then a small "Got Flowers?" flower was placed in the center with a pink rhinestone on top.
Pictured above is the right side with more flowers, another butterfly, and a ladybug.
Inside there's plenty of room for treats. I packaged jellybeans in Wilton icing bags and tied them with a bow. Another flower decorates the top of the lid.
Here is my tip for a snug fitting mailbox lid. I layered DP along the inside lip of the lid with a piece of grosgrain ribbon on top. Now the lid stays closed until I open it.
I hope you'll join us in this week's ABC Challenge! I'd love to see what you create! Upload your project to  Paper Craft Planet, and you could win a $10 voucher to spend in Elizabeth's Softpencil Shop! Elizabeth has added some new stamps that you will just LOVE! Check them out! Our very talented DT and Guest DT have some amazing projects to share with you! Their links are in my sidebar. Take a look, and be inspired to create! My Springtime Mailbox fits these challenges:
1. Digital Tuesday- All Things Girly
2. Tuesday Taggers- Time (Springtime)

4. Creative Belli- Butterflies or Dragonflies

S2G Birthday Bash Blog Hop!

Blog Hop Ends on Wednesday, Feb. 17
 11:59 P.M. PST
Winners will be announced on the S2G Challenge Blog on Friday Evening, Feb. 19.

Welcome to S2G's FIRST Birthday! Are you ready to party? If you arrived at my blog from the S2G Challenge Blog, then you are in the right place! If you just happened to stop by and visit, please start the Blog Hop HERE. If you get lost along the Hop, go back to the Challenge Blog for directions to the next stop.
The Girls thought they'd STIR things up a bit! ALL of the DT members have "a word" hiding in their Blog Hop POSTS...the words will describe 'things' or 'ingredients' that you need to make an UBER DELICIOUS Birthday Cake! My word will be hidden in one of the sentences in my post. There is also a word hidden on the S2G Challenge blog where the hop  begins. COLLECT ALL "13" words and YOU will be placed in a drawing to be showered by S2G...with GOBS of GOODIES! Winner will be chosen at the end of the week-long Blog Hop.
What is your favorite thing about Birthdays? I like the decorations. I think they really set the mood for the party. Each DT will also pick a winner for a prize from the comments on her blog, so be sure and tell me what you like best about Birthday parties. Remember, to be eligible for the grand prize, you must collect all 14 words from the S2G Blog and each DT Blog. Do not post your answers here. Write them down and post on the S2G Challenge Blog.

Nothing says "Party" like a banner, so here is mine!
Don't you just love polka dots? These letters are S2G images created especially for this Birthday Bash Blog Hop! I colored the banner letters and icons digitally on my computer. That is one of the great advantages of digital stamps. You can also resize them to fit your needs. I placed the new birthday icons in between the letters. They were matted on solid color CS and then matted on digi paper CS from the new S2G Birthday Party line of papers. I punched holes on the sides and connected the letters and icons together with small gold square brads. I fell in LOVE with these icons as soon as I saw them! I like them so much that I used them on several of the birthday projects that I will be sharing with you today. They come in four different designs: birthday cake, present, party hat, and crown.

Here is a closeup view of part of the banner. I placed my favorite wired organza ribbons at each end of the banners so they could be easily hung.

Here is an overview of the tablescape. Now let's take a closer look at the party elements.
Here are the cupcakes that I made for the party. I again used the party icons as cupcake toppers. The little girl, dog, and cat are from the digital image, "Party Guests" that I used last week on my party invitation.
Here again is the party invitation in the box. On either side are little purse party favors. I found the template at Splitcoast Stampers. I used velcro closures on the purses and added sequins to the handles. I attached the birthday icons on the front of the purses. I told you I LOVE them! They are so versatile!
I decorated the purses with some of the new birthday digital papers from S2G. There are twelve new ones, and they are so festive! I know you will want them all!
Aren't they just adorable? In case you're wondering what's inside.......
Strawberry lipgloss and miniature hair clips. I removed the label from the lipgloss, added a ribbon, and glued a birthday icon to the lid. The lipgloss was only $1 (Michael's), and the hair clips were 18/$1(Dollar General). This is just one example of how you can take inexpensive items, dress them up, and make them spectacular! What girl wouldn't love this party favor!

Whee! What's a party without balloons? "Whee" is the name of this adorable new birthday image from S2G! I have always loved balloons since the time I was very little. This image inspired me to make balloon holders. I cut out the image and glued it to CS. Then I punched a hole in the center balloon so I could attach the  "BUTTER"  real balloon. To keep the balloon standing up, I made a "collar" using strips of the new Birthday digi paper that I printed out on CS. I think they turned out so cute! Guests names can be written on the balloon holder or even on the balloon itself. It can then be used as a placecard or grouped together as centerpiece decorations. Such a perfect image for a party!
I placed small treat bags on each of the placecards. I filled bags with jellybeans, tied a ribbon at the top, and cut off the excess plastic bag. Then I glued Birthday icons to punched out Nesties circles, attached them to paper sticks, and inserted each inside a bag. So cute and so easy! (You also have a better view of the balloon collar in this photo.)
I also altered coasters to add to the tablescape.
I found them in the dollar bin at Michael's. I enlarged the birthday icons, colored them with watercolor pencils and Copics, and added Stickles. Then they were cut out and attached to the coasters with Mod Podge. Five top coats were added in all. I let each coat dry before applying the next.
Take one last look at my S2G Birthday Party. I hope it has inspired you! I used S2G images to create unique party decorations that will make any party fun and memorable! But don't stop here! The rest of the very talented DT has some awesome Birthday creations for you to oooooh and ahhhhh over!
Please leave a comment telling me what you like best about Birthday parties to be eligible for my drawing. Did you find my ingredient? Don't place it here. Write it down, collect the rest of the things or ingredients, and post them on the S2G Challenge page. After the Hop, you can check out the new SHOP. You will LOVE all of the new images!
Don't forget about Twisted Thursday! The Challenge will be to make a card or project featuring what you like best about birthdays. You will have another chance to win a free digi of your choice and a Winner's Badge for your blog!
Now it's time to hop on over to the very talented Jane Wetzel's Blog. She has some amazing and delicious projects to share with you! Have fun and good luck in the contests! Thanks for stopping by!

I LOVE Valentines!

I really love the colors associated with the holiday...red, white, and silver. I made these Valentine gifts for my two daughters who both live out of state. All three of us live in different time zones. The candle was made using a digi image from Softpencil. I colored it digitally on the computer, printed it out on tissue paper, and then applied it to the candle using wax paper and a heat gun. Then it was accented with Stickles. I packaged it up in a pretty box from Papertrey Ink, "Get a Handle on It". I cut hearts from Bazzill CS  and Glitter CS with Nesties and embossed them with Provo Craft Embossing folders. DP is "Me and My Big Ideas". The button is from "Dress It Up", and the ribbon is from Hobby Lobby. Each daughter received an identical gift. I just love hearts! I think it is my favorite shape. February is the perfect month for them. This project fits quite a few challenges:

"Be Mine" at Softpencil Thursday

This week the DT was given the new Valentine image, "Be Mine". Isn't Michu just the cutest! I LOVE him, and he is so much fun to color. We were also asked to make a "Spring Card". This was new for me, but I checked out the video HERE, and it really was a lot of fun and easy to make. I used heavy Bazzill CS, and I found that it really helped the card hold its shape and "spring".
I added DP to the bottom flap and to the sides. DP is "Me and My Big Ideas", and I found it at a local school supply store at 5/$1! You just never know where you're going to find a great buy so be on the lookout! Speaking of great buys, it's still not too late to get some Valentine images at Elizabeth's Softpencil Store. The "Be Mine" image is only $2! Softpencil images are so cute, and will look great on Valentine cards! It's S2G Twisted Thursday and.......

You're Invited to a Month Long Birthday Celebration!
S2G is ONE YEAR OLD!
Here's your invitation! It's inside the box!

Here's a side view.

Take off the ribbon and flip the lid.

Here it is!
Don't you just love to open boxes, especially when they're tied with ribbon? I think the invitation sets the mood for a party. When you receive an invitation that is different from the norm, you just know that the party will be extra special and fun! I filled the *box with foil shred to give the "feel" of a party when opened. This new digi, created especially for S2G's Birthday Celebration, is "Party Guests"! Isn't it adorable! I LOVE that it has animals-especially the cat! I colored the cat to look like my "Danny Boy" who now resides in "Cat Heaven". Guess what? There will be more party images for us to share with you next week! How do you like the DP? It's also new and was created  for the Birthday Bash. There are twelve different designs in all. And the COLORS! Don't you just LOVE them? Hot pink, bright orange, and lime green! I even cut some of the paper apart so I could use the different fonts printed on them.
I hope you'll join us in this month's Birthday Celebration! "The Girls" have games, challenges, and another BLOG HOP planned!

Softpencil Preview: Two Cute Musicians

Here are Michu and Ratiny serenading you! Have you ever been serenaded? I was.. just recently, for the very first time in my life! Hubby and I, DSs, and DDIL to be, had dinner at my favorite Italian restaurant to celebrate my birthday last weekend. DS called the restaurant and told them that it was my birthday. At the end of the meal I was presented with a huge slice of chocolate ganache cake with hot fudge sauce, whipped cream, and a lit candle on top. Then the waiter sang happy birthday to me in "Italian"! How beautiful "Happy Birthday" sounds when sung in another language!
Any way, back to my posting... Michu and Ratiny would look just perfect on a Valentine card! This week's challenge is a recipe! Sorry, it's not for chocolate ganache cake with fudge sauce! It's a 1, 2, 3 Challenge! Choose any combination of elements for your card. I chose 1 ribbon, 2 DP, and 3 buttons. Which three will you choose? I found the "All You Need is Love" stamp in the Dollar bin at Michael's. It's sung by my favorite singing group (when I was growing up) and oddly enough, it's my youngest son's favorite group too! Do you know who sang it? The *answer will be at the end of my post.
I hope you'll join us in this week's Challenge #18 and post your lovely creation at Paper Craft Planet!Elizabeth has some FREEBIES  posted there as well. Play along and you could win a $10 voucher to spend at Softpencil.  Check out Elizabeth's shop! She has some new "Oh So Cute!" images with Sentiments! Just perfect for Valentine's Day! We also have four new Guest DT members for the month of February! Check out the links to their blogs in my sidebar along with the rest of the DT members! You'll be glad you did!
