Welcome to Softpencil's First Anniversary Customer and DT Blog Hop! The Blog Hop will end at 8:00 P.M. (EST) on Sunday, May 30.
If you just happened to drop by my blog and want to participate in the hop, please start HERE at the Softpencil Blog. If you arrived from Karen's blog then you are in the right place!
I made projects featuring one of Elizabeth's newest designs, "Michu and the Big Flowers".
Michu is just jumping for joy, because he is so happy to be part of this First Anniversary Blog Hop! He's also thrilled that this is a CUSTOMER Blog Hop too, and many Softpencil FANS are participating! I cut the images apart after coloring with watercolor pencils and Copics. The butterflies are an MS punch. DP is DCWV and CS is Bazzill.
I LOVE digis and this is why: They are easily stored on the computer. You don't have to stamp them. You can easily flip them, and make them any size you want! I used one of the flowers from this digi for my next project.
I made a little matching purse from a *template and then added the flower that I resized.
I used the same DP, CS, and ribbon that I used on the card. I added Stickles for bling to the card and purse. The handle is held in place with star brads. Leave a comment on this post and all of the other stops along the hop to be eligible for prizes. After the hop, stop by the Softpencil Shop and check out the many adorable images Elizabeth has created! When you leave here, your next stop is Anne-Marije's Blog. She has some delicious eye candy waiting for you! Thanks for stopping by and happy hopping!

Round and Round We Go on this Pixie Dust Thursday!
The winner of the "Count the Pearls" Contest is
Lisa B!!!!
Thanks to everyone who entered my "Count the Pearls" Contest celebrating Pixie Dust's newest collection "The Pearl"! I really appreciate your entries and comments on my cards. :) The total number of pearls on all seven of my cards is 28. I used random.org to select a winner from all correct answers. Thanks to Kathy who generously donated a digi for my contest!
I carried out the round theme with Nesties and a button. What will you choose? I found some swirly paper in my stash that looked like waves, so I used that as a starting point, and chose my colors to coordinate. I used a MS tree branch punch and layered it in two different colors to make coral. Round Stickles dots complete the round theme. I hope you'll enter our challenge HERE. You could win one of Kathy's incredibly cute digis and a Winner's Badge for your blog! Stop by the rest of the DT's blogs and see what amazing projects they have to share with you this week! Their links are in my sidebar.
Kathy will have a brand new release next week, "Oh Happy Day"with EIGHT new digis! Sneak Peeks start on Tuesday! I'll have previews on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Release Day on Thursday. I hope you'll stop by and visit! Have a fun and safe Memorial Day weekend!

This week's challenge is "Round and Round". Use something on your card that is round. The choice is yours!
I chose "Wink Pretends" and "Glub the Fish" from the recently released "On the Prairie" Collection. These images were so much fun to color! I used a combination of watercolor pencils and Copics. This card is also a perfect example of one of the reasons I LOVE digis: they can be resized! Glub has been resized so that he is now big AND little. I also reversed the image. You can't do that with a traditional stamp.I carried out the round theme with Nesties and a button. What will you choose? We're Celebrating Fathers on this S2G TT!
We're celebrating all Father figures, whether they be a Dad, Uncle, Brother, etc. I have a Dear BIL who is celebrating a birthday this month, so I made this card for him.
This image is "Bar-B-Que Dad". It comes with several sentiments. They're suitable for Father's Day, but can also be used for other occasions as well. I thought this one was perfect for a birthday. I didn't want it to look too girly so I tried really hard not to over-embellish it! It was so hard not to add ribbon (my favorite embellishment). I settled for twine instead. The red and white checked DP reminded me of a picnic tablecloth, and the embossed swirls looked like steam from the grill! Stop by the S2G Shop and see what new masculine images the Girls have "cooked" up for you! I hope you'll join our challenge this week and make a card celebrating Fathers. Link it up HERE. Two winners will each receive two digis and a Winner's Badge for their blogs. Stop by the rest of the DT's blogs and see what they've created with these new images! You'll be inspired! Pixie Dust Release Day!
Today I have "Knit One, Purl Two"! So cute, and what a comfy looking chair!
I found this ribbon at Hobby Lobby and couldn't wait to use it! it was the perfect color for this card!
I found this ribbon at Hobby Lobby and couldn't wait to use it! it was the perfect color for this card!
Next up is "Mermaid and the Pearl". I had fun coloring her! I gave her light green skin and faded her fish tail from turquoise to blue. Blue Stickles were added as highlights to her blue hair. I chose DP, ribbon, and embossing to carry out the circle theme.
I saved the best for last! I'm sure you can guess who this is! I'll give you a hint! He's a Pirate of the Caribbean. He searched for a Black Pearl.
YES! It's "Jack Sparrow" aka Johnny Depp!
I have a friend who has a friend who babysat for Johnny when he was little.
So I know him....sorta....kinda...LOL! So near yet so far....SIGH

It's a Favorite Colors S2G Twisted Thursday!
What's your favorite color? Mine is blue. A LOT of my clothing is blue. Every room in my house has some blue in it. Most of the carpeting in the house is blue. My eyes are even blue! But I find myself using a lot of pink since I became a Cardmaker, so that's what I'm featuring today!
The S2G theme this month is "Home". I LOVE the sentiment on this card! When I saw this image it reminded me of a coat that my sister had when we were little. We didn't think we were "little" back then. We thought we were "Young Ladies"! I had a blue coat (What a surprise!), and my sister had a black and white herringbone coat. She accessorized it with magenta gloves and a magenta colored hat. I thought it was so pretty! I had never heard of the color "magenta" before, and I thought it sounded exotic! My sister had curly hair, so I added some. I think those swirls on the hat are supposed to be flowers, but I added more and turned them into curls.
I used my brand new Multi-Shaper punch from EasyCut Craft to make the lacy border. I hand stitched the flower using pink satin ribbon and two organza ribbons that were purchased at Hobby Lobby.
Stop by the rest of the DT's blogs. We all have different images. Let our talented Girls inspire you to create a card using your favorite color! Link your card HERE. Two winners will be chosen to receive TWO digis each and a Winner's Badge for their blogs! Did you know that almost all S2G cards come with sentiments? Check them out in the S2G Shop. They're sure to brighten your day!
It's Soft pencil Thursday!
This is Elizabeth's newest image that will be released tomorrow!
It's called "Happy Sailors".
Aren't they sweet! I cut out all three images and attached them to embossed circles. I found the DP at Archiver's. It doesn't show up too well in the photo but the starfish are shiny and have little smiley faces. This digi is just so summery! It would be perfect for anyone who enjoys boating or someone going on a cruise. For more inspiration using this digi, stop by the blogs of our creative DT. Their links are in my sidebar. Stop by the Softpencil Shop tomorrow and pick up this digi. This one will be there along with so many more!

Pixie Dust Sneak Peeks Day 2!
It's Day TWO of Sneak Peeks for the newest release "The Pearl"! Aren't you just loving this new release! I know I am! All of the images have something to do with pearls!
This image is "Pixie Pearl". I just love Pixies! They are so cute and so much fun to color! Ever since I took the Copic Certification Class I LOVE coloring wings. She has a little leaf attached to her skirt, which I think is adorable!
Next is "Pearl of Wisdom". She's so smart! She carries a book wherever she goes! She even has a little bookworm to keep her company! I found some red ribbon in my stash that has little woven hearts on it. Just perfect to go with the little heart on the book! Did you notice again that all of my cards have pearls on them? It was so much fun to carry out the pearl theme for this new release! The rest of the DT have some amazing creations to share with you! Their links are in my sidebar. Tomorrow is RELEASE DAY! "The Pearl" collection will be available in the Pixie Dust Studio! Stop by here tomorrow and I'll have THREE more digis from "The Pearl" collection to inspire you! My CONTEST starts tomorrow too!
So be sure and stop by!

Pixie Dust Sneak Peeks Day 1!
Today is Day ONE of Sneak Peeks for "The Pearl", the newest release created by Kathy, the owner of Pixie Dust Studio!
This image is "Pearl Harbor". With Memorial Day just around the corner, this is the perfect image to honor those who serve in the Military. I chose festive paper from The Paper Studio and found a flag and stars stickers in my stash from Creative Memories.
Next is "Pop Up Pearl". Isn't she adorable! She wears a little crown on her head, and I added flowers to it. The inside of the shell was colored and blended with Copics to give the look of Mother of Pearl. I love the soft colors. I just purchased some paper flowers at Archiver's and thought this was the perfect card to use them on. Just had to add my favorite ribbon: organza!
Did you notice that all of my cards have pearls on them? The official release date for "The Pearl" is this Thursday! All of the new images will be available in the Pixie Dust Studio then. Stop by and see what the rest of our very talented DT has created! Their links are in my sidebar. Drop by here tomorrow, and I will have two more sneak peeks for you! I'll have a CONTEST here on my blog on Thursday, so be sure to stop by then too!

What's my "Super Power"? Why, it's Super Strength, of course! I am the only person in the house who is strong enough to open the dishwasher door, lift the clean dishes, and place them in the cabinets! What a workout! The men in the family just don't have the strength to do it! LOL

This week's challenge is "Cut It Out!".
This was an easy challenge for me. I always cut images out. I just like the extra "pop" it adds! I chose "Tweet Tree". I added buttons and layered rhinestones on top. Such an adorable image and so much fun to work with! "Tweet Tree" is only one of the digis from the new "On the Prairie" line. Stop by the Pixie Dust Shop and have a look at all the cute images for this theme. "Pocket of Love" is on sale now for only $2! For inspiration on how to use images for this week's challenge, stop by the other Pixie's blogs and see what they have to show. Their links are in my sidebar. Make yourself comfortable and have a cupcake. I made plenty!
Each of the DT were asked to choose their favorite Softpencil digi to showcase during the hop. I chose "I Will Cook for You". It has a special place in my heart. It is the first image I used when I became a member of the Softpencil DesignTeam . Softpencil is also the first Design Team that I was asked to be on. I absolutely LOVE Elizabeth's images! They are all so adorable and cute!
Make yourself comfortable and have a cupcake. I made plenty!
Yum! Chocolate with buttercream frosting!
I made cupcake toppers using some of the Softpencil Gang. You can't have a party without cupcakes! Each of the DT were asked to choose their favorite Softpencil digi to showcase during the hop. I chose "I Will Cook for You". It has a special place in my heart. It is the first image I used when I became a member of the Softpencil Design
This was the first card I made as a Softpencil Design Team Member.
Below is what I made for Softpencil's First Birthday. It's a clipboard recipe holder. I found the clipboard at the Dollar Tree, and I just had to alter it! I attached a wooden spoon (also from the Dollar Tree), tied it with a bow, and added the little Mouse.
Next I made a basket with one of my favorite templates from Papertrey Ink.
I think the little Mouse looks so cute on the front!
I can just picture this basket filled with chocolate chip cookies!
How would you like to have the digi "I Will Cook for You"?
All you have to do is leave a comment on my blog and wish Softpencil a Happy Birthday! I will randomly choose a winner of the digi. Each of the DT will also choose a winner from the comments on their blogs to win their favorite digis. The contest will end Sunday, May 9 at 8:00 P.M. (EST).
