Day Two of Sneak Peeks at Pixie Dust Studio!

This image is "Wink on Holiday". He's all decked out for the upcoming Royal Wedding! Will you be in attendance? If you live in the US, you'll need to get up early to watch the festivities on TV.
Since Wink is on holiday in London, he decided to do a little sightseeing before the BIG DAY! I used more stickers from "Paper House Productions" on this card. How often do I use stickers? Almost never, except for yesterday and today.
Want to see more? Stop by the rest of the Pixies' blogs. They have more images for you to see! Their links are in my sidebar. Be sure and stop by tomorrow. It's Release Day in the Pixie Dust Studio! All of the British Invasion digital images will be available then!

Day One of Sneak Peeks at Pixie Dust Studio!

The British are Coming!

The newest collection will be in the Pixie Dust Studio on Wednesday!

This image is "Tweet Soldier". I printed one copy and then flipped another to make the two soldiers.
I colored them with Copic markers. I normally don't use stickers on cards, but I made an exception this time. I found these London stickers from Paper House Productions at Hobby Lobby, and I thought they were perfect for this card. I even put some on my Sneak Peek card for tomorrow, so you'll have to stop by then to see it! Want to see more images from this collection? Stop by the blogs of our talented Pixie DT and see which images they are showcasing today! Their links are in my sidebar.

"Let's Go to the Movies" this Week at Pixie Dust Studio!

As soon as I saw this title, I KNEW what I would post! If you are a frequent Visitor to my blog, I'll bet you guessed!
It had to be "Twilight"! I made more pages for my Never-Ending Twi Book! I chose two digis for this page: "Fire and Ice" with Edward and Jacob and "Eclipse Bella". I found Jacob's tattoo and the Cullen Crest on the web. The flower is handmade.
But I didn't stop with just one page! I had to make another!

I hadn't used Emmett yet. So here he is! I was on a roll! Just had to add the "Cottage in the Trees". Rosalie found Emmett in the woods...There could have been a tree house nearby or a deer stand....Any way it was tooooo cute not to add.

I drew a scroll and added a quote from the book. If you missed any pages in my Twi book, you can find them HERE. Maybe you'll be inspired to make a Twi book too! If not a book, make a card for this week's Pixie Dust Studio Challenge "Let's Go to the Movies". If you're not a Twi Fan (GASP) Kathy has many more inspirational digis in the Studio. Stop by the talented Pixies' Blogs and take a peek at their Movie Favorites. Then link YOUR card or project HERE for a chance to win a digi of your choice and Winner's Badge for your blog!

"Happy Easter" at Softpencil and a Tutorial

Are you ready for Easter? The Softpencil DT is! We have projects this week featuring one of Elizabeth's newest digital images.
This image is "Molly, Timmy, and the Baby Chick".

Here it is all colored up with Copic Markers.
Have you checked out the Softpencil Studio yet? Elizabeth has been very busy creating! Besides digis you will find Tshirts and Hoodies! Take a peek and see all the newest goodies she has in the shop,

I made a tabletop centerpiece this week.

I was out shopping, and I saw some pinwheels. I got the idea to make some and decorate them with this week's image. I cut the images apart and put one on each pinwheel. The sentiment is a Michael's rubber stamp that I found in the $1 bin.

I found the little bucket on sale for $1. (Can't pass up a bargain!) I used the entire image to decorate the bucket.
I think it makes a cute Easter Centerpiece!

How did I make the pinwheels? I'll show you how!

PINWHEEL TUTORIAL

You will need: one piece of double sided patterned CS cut into a square 4 1/2" by 4 1/2", scissors, a hole punch, a pencil, one brad, one wooden skewer,

a nickel, and a glue gun.

Fold the paper in half as shown.

Open the paper and fold in half in the opposite direction.

Open the paper, and using the nickel, draw a circle in the center of the square.

Using scissors, cut on the fold lines. Start on the edges and cut toward the center. Do not cut through the circle that you drew.

Now your square looks like this: four triangles connected by a center circle.

Using a pencil, draw a small dot in the left hand corner of each triangle.

With the hole punch, punch through each dot.

Poke a small hole in the center of the circle using scissors.

Pull one corner toward the center and place a brad in the hole. Pull another corner toward the center and place the brad through that hole.

Continue until all corners are pulled toward the center. Then push the brad through the center hole.

Turn the pinwheel over. Secure the brad by splaying the ends open.

Turn the pinwheel over again and slightly flatten it so your images can be adhered more easily.

I applied a dot of hot glue on each X (See photo).....

and attached my image to the front.

Next,I attached a pop dot to the back with hot glue. Then I put more hot glue on top of the pop dot and attached the skewer.

I punched out a small paper heart and adhered it on top of the skewer with another dab of hot glue. I like the back of my project to look neat.

Add a ribbon, and your pinwheel is finished! This pinwheel does not spin. If you want it to spin, you need to use a long pin instead of a brad and stick it into the wooden skewer. I hope you've enjoyed my project! Happy Crafting!

A Gift for my Sister!

My sister had a birthday recently, and I made another basket to put her gift in. I think I've lost track of how many of these I've made. Each one has been different.

Sis' favorite color is pink, so that's the color I chose. I hope you're not too tired of seeing this basket. It's "Pack a Picnic" from Papertrey Ink, and it's my "Go-To" template when I need something special.

Here's a closeup of the image. I used pop dots to give it dimension.

 This is the lid.

The images are "Pansy" from Clear Dollar Stamps. I chose the digital images, but they also come in clear acrylic. Sis loved her gifts!

It's Softpencil Tuesday!

Elizabeth's Shop is now open! Have you stopped by yet? She has some fabulous things besides digital stamps! Her TShirts are adorable! She has added some new digital stamps too.

This one is "Painting Eggs with Amy". The image is just perfect for the upcoming Easter holiday!
How do you color your eggs? I literally "color" them with crayons before dipping them into the colored dye. The wax resists the dye and any part of the shell not colored is dyed. It's sort of an egg batique! LOL

Stop by the blogs of the talented Softpencil DT, and see what they did with this cute image. Their links are in my sidebar. Browse the Softpencil Studio for this digi and many more. You'll be glad you did!
