Happy Birthday, Joe!

This card is for my brother, Joe. His birthday is today. When he was a teenager he bought a Corvette and worked hard to restore it. I found this digi image at Doodle Palace and bought it with Joe in mind. I colored the image with markers and shaded it with watercolor pencils. CS is Archiver's. Blue DP is Frances Meyer. Red DP is The Paper Patch. I cut stars with a Creative Memories punch. I popped the car and paper star up with dimensional dots. The red and blue star buttons are from Archiver's.The sentiment is my own, typed on my computer. It refers to the car and also to my brother! The card fits these challenges: 1. Help! I'm Trapped in a Gumball Machine!

I already made one card for the My Grafico Challenge, but I got this idea and I just had to make another! I used the same digi gumball machine stamp from My Grafico. Jeanette Waters designed this image. You can check out her blog: h2O Creations. I paper pieced the stamp and shaded it with watercolor pencils. I embossed CS with a Fiskars spider web plate that I ran through my Cuttlebug. A MS Checkerboard punch was used for the borders. DP is from The Paper Studio. I punched out the circles with a Creative Memories circle punch. I thought the cute little characters looked like gumballs, so I popped them up with pop dots and placed them in the gumball machine. The sentiment is by me. I typed, printed, cut it out, and then popped it up. The ribbon is from Hobby Lobby.

Moos Flash!

Ever heard of a moo? No, it has nothing to do with a cow! Lol! It is a small card that is 2.7 cm x 7cm. Don't feel bad; I just recently heard about them. I made two for the challenge at Something Completely Different. I was inspired by the beautiful samples on the blog. The colors for the challenge are gold and black. I searched on the web and found some vintage downloads here. I chose two. First I changed the color to a golden sepia. Then I stamped over the images in black ink with a"Birds and Flower Burst" stamp from Dimensions Crafts. I matted the images with Bazzill CS. I inked over a piece of floral ribbon with gold ink and added a yellow rhinestone from Studio 18 to one, and black rhinestones from Hero Arts to the other. In keeping with the vintage look, I photographed the two against a crocheted doily that I found at an antique shop. I think they look quite elegant, and they were quick and easy to make.

Treats for You

It's close to that time of year again! Time for candy corn! I made this card for My Grafico using the cute gumball machine stamp that I won on their recent bloghop. I paper pieced the digi stamp designed by Jeanette Waters, and then shaded it with watercolor pencils. The sketch is from Taylored Expressions Birthday Bash sketch #6. The candy corn and pumpkin papers are from The Paper Studio. Sentiment paper and CS are DCWV. Punch is Fiskars Threading Water. Rhinestones are Hero Arts and ribbon is Hobby Lobby.

Congratulations, Georgia!

My friend,Georgia was recently chosen as a DT member for Stamptacular Sunday Challenges! Woot! Woot! I made this gift basket for her using the Pack a Picnic Timeless Template. I hope you aren't tired of seeing this template in the many versions I have made, but I am in LOVE with it! Georgia's gift fit perfectly inside. CS is JoAnn's and DP is The Paper Studio. I machine stitched around all of the panels. The border under the rim of the box was cut with a MS Arch Lattice punch. My cute little girl is "Leisel" (Swiss Pixies- one of my faves!) from CC Designs. I colored her with watercolor pencils, markers, and glitter pens. I added Hero Arts rhinestones to her hair. I used a Nesties to frame her and then punched a hole in the center of each scallop. The orange flowers are "Got Flowers?." The brown flowers are "Spare Parts" from The Paper Studio. They were originally yellow, but I colored them with a brown Marvy marker. The large rhinestones in the center of each flower are Studio 18. The sentiment on the lid is Stampabilities. I distressed brown ink around the edges. The ribbon is Hobby Lobby, of course. (They have great sales on ribbon!) The handles were attached with rhinestone brads from Karen Foster. Not So Scary Haunted Birdhouse

When I saw that the challenge at "Something Completely Different" was a birdhouse, I got the idea to make a haunted birdhouse. It took a while to gather my materials, but I think it was worth the wait. I found the perfect birdhouse at JoAnn's. It was only $3 with a half off coupon. You know how I love bargains! I painted the birdhouse with acrylic paint, and then covered it with DP from the "Indian Summer Stack" DCWV. The Boo stamp and stacked pumpkins are digi images from Dustin Pike. I hand printed the "Beware" sign, then cut and colored it. The mummy stamp is Recollections. It was in the dollar bin at Michael's. Whoo! Hoo! The spiders (one on each side) were stamped using an Archiver's exclusive stamp. I added copper wire that I twisted into legs. I know spiders have eight legs, but mine only have six. Please forgive me! I then attached them with thread so they would dangle. The roof is Bazzill CS that I embossed with a Fiskar's folder in my Cuttlebug. I then rubbed over the embossing with white ink. I made the scalloped "gingerbread" trim with a Fiskar's Threading Water punch; one of my favorites! The little dragon patrolling the house is also a Dustin Pike digi image. The witch and cat on a broom are Dustin Pike digi images. I colored them with watercolors and then embossed the witch's hair and the cat. I cut a large yellow circle from yellow Creative Memories CS. The bat stamp is from Dimension Crafts. I used pop dots under all of the images except the spiders. I am so happy that my finished project actually looks like the vision I had mulling around in my head all week! Is It Still Summer?

The calendar says it's Summer, but the weather feels more like Fall. We have been having some cool days in the South. I was on the "wait list" for this cute flip flop stamp, and it finally arrived at Archiver's, so I rushed over and picked it up. I colored the flip flops with watercolor pencils and glitter pens. The sketch is from Stamps and Smiles, "The Fresh Batch." Flip flop stamp is Northwoods Rubber Stamp. Sentiment stamp is Studio g. Solid color CS is ColorBok. Patterned CS is from The Paper Co. Rhinestones are Hero Arts and ribbon is Hobby Lobby.
