Welcome to the S2G "All About Thanks" Blog Hop! If you arrived here from the talented Ann's Blog, then you're in the right place. If not, start at the beginning at the S2G Challenge Blog. You can also return there if you happen to get "lost" along the hop.
Four of the DT members have been chosen as a "Secret Prize" blog. By leaving comments on every DT member's blog, you increase your chances of winning.
Each DT member will tell you what she is thankful for and also share a papercrafting tip with you as our personal thank you to our hop participants and followers.
I am thankful for my family, especially my husband of 30 years. I have two beautiful daughters, and two handsome sons, a DSIL, a DDIL, a grandson, and a brand new granddaughter. I am so blessed to have a very supportive husband who loves me and cooks for me.
I am also thankful that I have a blog with followers! It is so much fun to be able to work with S2G digital images that I love and share my creations with you!
Today I am showcasing the digi image "Our Years". It comes with four sentiments! It is perfect for anniversary celebrations. I made a card and a coordinating gift.
Here is the card.
Next I took a bottle of Sparkling Grape Juice and added a wrap-around label.
I found this tutorial on Splitcoast Stampers and made a hanging treat box that fits over the neck of the bottle. I used another one of the sentiments that comes with this digi.
There is room inside the box for some small treats, a gift card, etc. I placed some movie tickets inside mine. Just add a bow and you have a gift that is perfect for an anniversary celebration!
My Tip
For my tip, I'm going to tell you how I color my images. Most of the time I color them first with watercolor pencils and use a Copic blender to blend. Next I color over that with a Copic Marker. (If I colored the image with an orange pencil, then I color over the image wih an orange Copic.) Then I shade the image with either a darker color Copic or watercolor pencil. If I shade with a watercolor pencil, I blend again with the Copic blender pen. You can also blend regular Prismacolor pencils with a Copic blender. If you want to blend regular colored pencils, be sure they are soft lead like Prismacolor.
My favorite papercrafting "thing" is making containers and altering items. Where do I get my inspiration? Most of the time it is from one of my favorite stores, The Dollar Tree. I can always find something that screams,"Alter me!" or gives me an idea to make a container. Best of all...everything in the store is only $1.00!
