Crafty in Alabama

Recently returned from Alabama and brought back two souvenirs: a sinus infection and bronchitis!
While there I worked on a craft project that I started at home. I found a scrapbook frame at Hobby Lobby and decided to fill it with pictures for my daughter.

Our family reunion was last summer, so I chose pictures from the various events to include in the frame. It was decorated with papers from the Graphic 45 French Country collection.
Fun project!

Easter Parade!

Are you getting ready for Easter? I have already started on and finished some projects. I have a small army growing. In fact I didn't take pictures of everything I made. Only a few were chosen.

Here are some of them.

This adorable rabbit treat box is actually a FREEBIE from SVG Cuts! I altered it a little by cutting a window and frame using Nesties, and covering the opening with clear plastic. I bought some small hairclips from the Dollar Tree to hold the box shut and glued on a flower and rhinestone. The facial features were made using circle and heart punches. The eyes are rhinestones, and I drew the mouth with a pen. The "boy" bunny has a plain clip to hold it shut, and I added a ribbon bow tie. They are ready to be filled with Easter treats.
You can find the pattern HERE.

Next I made these cute little chicks. They are from the the Egg Hunt kit from SVG Cuts. I altered these too. I used a small heart punch to add feet and a comb on top of the head. Small rhinestones were used for the eyes. "Girl" chicks sport flowers on their heads while "Boys" wear ribbon bow ties. They are small boxes too. So I filled them with chocolate Easter eggs. YUM!
If you are into SVG files, I highly recommend SVG Cuts! Their files are amazing and customer service is excellent!
Chick DP is from Archiver's "The Best of Echo Park Paper" 12x12 pad. Bunny paper is from my stash but was purchased at Archiver's before they closed their local stores.

WOW! I cannot believe it has been so long since I posted! So much has happened in the past one and a half years. Yes, I'm still crafting, but sadly all of the DTs I was on have ended. The owners have all decided to follow new directions. I LOVE SVG Cuts, and most of my projects since I last posted were made using their templates. Below are some favors that I made for my nephew's fiancee's bridal shower. The bride to be's wedding colors were plum, white, and gold.

Here is an overview of the decorations and favors.

I placed the couple's engagement picture in the frame. This gorgeous template is from SVG Cuts Love Always Collection. The sides and back were reinforced with chipboard to make it more sturdy. This frame also did double duty as one of the decorations at the rehearsal dinner.

The theme was "Tea Party" so I had to make this gorgeous teapot. It turned out so nicely that everyone thought it was real china. They could hardly believe that it was made out of paper!
You can find the template here. It's from the SVG Cuts collection "Honey Bee Tea".

I also made teacups as take home favors. This template is "Grab a Cup" from My Time Made Easy.

The teacups were filled with gold Hershey kisses and tea bags.
The tea bags were placed in miniature paper bags and then wrapped in gold tissue paper.
A picture of the couple (same as the large frame) was then glued to the front.

I made chocolate marble cupcakes and placed them in cupcake wrappers that were made using SVG's Patio Party Cupcake Wrappers kit. The cupcakes were placed inside the wrappers and then frosted with homemade buttercream icing using a pastry bag and tip.

The party table! I had so much fun making these decorations! My gift to the bride was a tea kettle and an assortment of teas. Such a fun time! I hope I have given you some inspiration for your next bridal shower!

The gorgeous DP used in this project is Graphic 45 from the Sweet Sentiments Collection. CS is from Hobby Lobby. Pearls and small flowers on teacups were purchased at Michaels.
