"Let's Go On Safari" at Pixie Dust Studio!

This week's theme at the Pixie Dust Studio is "Let's Go On Safari!". The challenge is to use animal prints, jungle colors, Safari animals, etc. on your project.

I  used the digis "True Love" and "Marry Me Bella"  from the "Twilight Collection" to make another page in my Twi Book. It's taking a while to complete because I work on it when "inspiration" hits! LOL
For more pages of my book click HERE, and scroll down the entire page. All of the pages are listed along with this post. Enjoy!

I drew the scroll myself and then saved it to my computer so I can use it again. The CS is DCWV  from "The Safari Chic" collection.

I used the Softpencil image "Merry Christmas" for this week's project.

I made a Shaker ornament that can be hung on a tree or used as a wall decoration. I used glitter CS, Stickles, glitter, and plastic snowflake confetti. A sheet of clear acetate cut to fit, keeps all the glitter inside. The ribbon is organza accented with a snowflake made with a MS punch. Our talented DT have some amazing projects to share using this image.Check out their blogs! Their links are in my sidebar.

"For the Boys" this Week at Pixie Dust Studio!

My four year old grandson LOVES fairy tales and stories! One of his
favorites is "The Gingerbread Man". I promised him that we will make
a Gingerbread Man cake when he comes to visit, and we'll decorate
it with candy. What fun! I made this card for him using "Sir Ginger"
 from the Goodies Collection.

The images were colored with Copics and accented with Stickles and rhinestones. I embossed CS and added a border using a MS punch. I hope you'll join us for this week's challenge and make a card or project suitable for a man or boy. You could win an adorable digi from Pixie Dust Studio and a Winner's Badge for your blog! Link your project HERE. Stop by the creative Pixies' blogs to see the images they are featuring for this week's challenge. Their links are in my sidebar.

It's Pumpkin Time at S2G!

It's November, a month of "Thanks"! Thank you to everyone who participated in our Blog Hop last week! I hope you enjoyed it and picked up some tips along the way! The twist this week is to use pumpkins on your card or project. I chose a set of digital images: "Giblets 2".

All four images are pictured above.

I made a pumpkin shaped basket. I added artificial leaves and a glittery pumpkin to the upper right hand corner and filled the basket with more leaves and flowers.

To show the versatility of this set, I made a napkin ring.

These are the final images in Giblets 2. What can you create with this set?

I hope you'll join us for this week's challenge with a "Pumpkin" twist. Link your project HERE. You could win a S2G digi and a Winner's Badge for your blog! Need inspiration? Check out the blogs of the talented and creative DT. Their links are in my sidebar. Stop by the S2G Shop for digis that are perfect for the season.

Welcome to the S2G "All About Thanks" Blog Hop!

The Blog Hop ends on Nov. 7 at 12:00 A.M. PST.
Welcome to the S2G "All About Thanks" Blog Hop! If you arrived here from the talented Ann's Blog, then you're in the right place. If not, start at the beginning at the S2G Challenge Blog. You can also return there if you happen to get "lost" along the hop.
Four of the DT members have been chosen as a "Secret Prize" blog. By leaving comments on every DT member's blog, you increase your chances of winning.
Each DT member will tell you what she is thankful for and also share a papercrafting tip with you as our personal thank you to our hop participants and followers.
I am thankful for my family, especially my husband of 30 years. I have two beautiful daughters, and two handsome sons, a DSIL, a DDIL, a grandson, and a brand new granddaughter. I am so blessed to have a very supportive husband who loves me and cooks for me.
I am also thankful that I have a blog with followers! It is so much fun to be able to work with S2G digital images that I love and share my creations with you!
Today I am showcasing the digi image "Our Years". It comes with four sentiments! It is perfect for anniversary celebrations. I made a card and a coordinating gift.

Here is the card.
Next I took a bottle of Sparkling Grape Juice and added a wrap-around label.

I found this tutorial on Splitcoast Stampers and made a hanging treat box that fits over the neck of the bottle. I used another one of the sentiments that comes with this digi.

There is room inside the box for some small treats, a gift card, etc. I placed some movie tickets inside mine. Just add a bow and you have a gift that is perfect for an anniversary celebration!
My Tip
For my tip, I'm going to tell you how I color my images. Most of the time I color them first with watercolor pencils and use a Copic blender to blend.  Next I color over that with a Copic Marker. (If I colored the image with an orange pencil, then I color over the image wih an orange Copic.) Then I shade the image with either a darker color Copic or watercolor pencil. If I shade with a watercolor pencil, I blend again with the Copic blender pen. You can also blend regular Prismacolor pencils with a Copic blender. If you want to blend regular colored pencils, be sure they are soft lead like Prismacolor.
My favorite papercrafting "thing" is making containers and altering items. Where do I get my inspiration? Most of the time it is from one of my favorite stores, The Dollar Tree. I can always find something that screams,"Alter me!" or gives me an idea to make a container. Best of all...everything in the store is only $1.00!
*********
Next stop on the Hop is the creative Chris! Be sure to leave a comment telling us what you are thankful for to be eligible for prizes. Please enter our challenge this week, too. The Twist is to use the word "Thanks" on your card. Link your creation HERE. Thanks so much for joining in our "All About Thanks" Blog Hop! I hope you enjoy your visit to our DT's blogs. Good luck in the drawings! Hugs!
