S2G TT: Happy Mother's Day!

Happy Mother's Day! S2G is celebrating motherhood!
I made this cute combo for my youngest DD, who is expecting her second child this Fall.
I thought this digi, "Mother Knows Best" was just perfect for my daughter's card. It comes with three sentiments.
I chose another digi set for the baby buggy, appropriately named "Buggy".
I colored the buggy digi with watercolor pencils and Copics. It was then placed on Nestie circles and glued to the back of the baby carriage.
A baby rattler also comes with the Buggy digi.
I placed this digi on the front of the buggy.
I glued a grosgrain ribbon to the carriage hood, and to a strip of paper that I used for the handle.
Fiskars punches were used for the borders and flowers. The centers are "Got Flowers?" and buttons threaded with ribbons. The template for the buggy is "Bouncing Baby Buggy", designed by Lauren Meader for My Time Made Easy.
Now you might be wondering what is going inside of the buggy!
Aren't these bibs adorable? I just love the sentiments...especially, "What happens at grandma's stays at grandma's. LOL I have some extra room in the buggy, so I'll add some chocolates for DD!
Check out the projects the rest of our creative DT have made for Mother's Day. They will inspire you! Their links are in my sidebar. Then enter your project at the S2G Challenge Blog. The twist is easy! Just use the word "Mother" on your project! Two winners will be randomly chosen to win two digis each and a Winner's badge to display on their blogs.
Need some Mother's Day digis? The Girls have a wide selection at the S2G Shop! Check it out!

It's a Magical Softpencil Thursday!

Now you see "Michu the Great" waving his magic wand over the Bunny in the hat!
...And the Bunny magically disappears! Where did he go, and can Michu make him reappear?
Of course he can! He IS "Michu the Great"!  Another wave of the magic wand, and the Bunny and the hat are both coming into view now!
This week's Softpencil image is "Michu is a Magician". I added the table. I drew it myself.
It took me a while to figure out how to make the rabbit appear and disappear. I cut a strip 1/2 inch wide of Papertrey Clear CS and glued the Bunny and hat in the middle. I cut two slits in the card and threaded the Clear CS through. Then I glued ribbon pull tabs to each end.The wand was colored with gold Smooch. I cut a star, colored it with Smooch, and glued it to the end of the wand.
I wish Michu would pay a visit to my house! I'm in the process of moving my Scraproom from one room to another. Hubby even bought some shelves for the walls. I'd like to ask Michu to wave his magic wand and put everything in place!
Check out the MAGIC the rest of the DT has worked this week with "Michu is a Magician"! Their links are in my sidebar. Elizabeth has planned some exciting events for Softpencil fans in the next few weeks! The first one is this Sunday. Mark your calendar and join us!

S2G Twisted Thursday: Welcome Spring!

It's Twisted Thursday! The challenge this week is to make a "Spring" card, and the Twist is "Flowers". There so many Spring images in the S2G Shop to choose from, and each of the DT members got to pick which ones to work with this week. I have two projects to share with you today.

The first is a card I call "Spring Has Sprung". I chose the S2G digis "Pansy" and "Bugs". I remember using this same quote on bulletin boards during my teaching career. My BFF, Georgia, who is also a former teacher, once said that cards were like mini-bulletin boards. So I guess teaching prepared us for cardmaking! LOL! I embossed pink CS that was placed behind the pansy. Pop dots were placed under the cute little bugs to add dimension.
CS is Bazzill. DP is DCWV "Flower Shower" from The Spring Stack. Punch is MS, and ribbon is Hobby Lobby.

I used the same "Pansy" digi to make this plate. The image was colored with Vitrea Transparent Markers that I purchased at Michael's. This plate is dishwasher safe! I actually found it in the Bridal Section at Hobby Lobby. It's a dessert plate! I'll post a tutorial later this week and give you all the deets on how to make your own.
I hope you'll join us this week as we celebrate "Spring with Flowers". Post a direct link to your card on the S2G Challenge Blog. You could win your choice of two digis and a Winner's Badge for your blog! Speaking of winners....All of the March TT Winners and the April in Paris Blog Hop Winners are now posted on the Winners' Page. Check out the S2G Shop! Have you picked out any of the new "April in Paris" digis? I still have some on my "gotta have" list! Take a look at the DT's Blogs! It's Softpencil Thursday, Friends!

The Softpencil Challenge this week is to make a "Friendship" card using the image "Good Friends".
I LOVE this sweet little image! It was so much fun to color! I was inspired by the colors in my recently purchased "Flower Shower" DP from DCWV's new Spring Stack. The stitching is faux. Doesn't it look real? The yellow flowers were dry embossed, then buttons tied with ribbons were added.

                           Stickles were added for Bling.
Stop by the DT's blogs and see what they've created with this image. I know you'll be inspired! Their links are in my sidebar.

S2G TT April in Paris Continues!

Bonjour mes amis ! Bienvenue à la deuxième semaine d'avril à Paris!
Ahhh... Paris in the Springtime! Sounds wonderful!
From The Girls:
'Chanel is ready to strut her stuff! This week we're giving you a snapshot of a scene that takes us back to one of our favorite little villages in France. Don't you love the sweet yellow bicycle with the Menu board on it? We'd love you to take a look at our 'oh so french' picture and let it guide you for this weeks... Shirleys2Girls Twisted Thursday !Whether it is the color palette, the sunflowers,or anything else in the photo...JUST GO FOR IT!"

Let's take a look at "La Salon". I tried for a "French" look. My "Guys" thought it looked French, so I am happy! I chose pink and black from the photo. .....Look really hard and you'll see those colors!  ;)
Isn't this room gorgeous? I "papered the wall three times before I was satisfied with the just the "right" look! It certainly was easier than papering my own livingroom! LOL  As soon as I saw this digi, I knew that I wanted to use pink, black, and white. I went looking for inspirational paper, and I had some "Formal Affair" from Scrapworks in my stash. Then I found some "Black and Pink Zebra" at Hobby Lobby. CS is Papertrey Ink. I needed some black flowers, so I colored them with a Bic pen. Pink pearls were added to the centers. I didn't have any black ribbon with pink dots, so I colored the white dots pink. I made a "Cameo pin" featuring Chanel using Nesties and a Dry Embossing folder.
I coudn't stop with just a card! I love the stripes on the chair, and I love the zebra paper! People often ask me where I get my inspiration. Most people will say, "From nature, or pictures in magazines." Not me! I get inspired just walking through a Dollar Store! I found this really unique hexagon box while looking for inspiration. It just cried out, "Alter me!" So I did! I added some of the same embellishments to the box that I used on the card. I also had to add "Chanel" S2G newest little dog who is a "French" poodle. Chanel comes with one of the digis I used last week, "Grand Tresors".
Here is a close up of the flower that I made for the top of the box. I layered and folded Nesties, and distress inked around the edges with black ink to add dimension. I fringed a circle and held it all together with a rhinestone brad.
Next I made a tag also using Chanel and some of the same embellishments as the card. Travel around to the rest of the DT's blogs. They have some fabulous French Inspiration to share with you! Their links are in my sidebar. Be inspired and share YOUR French inspiration at the S2G Challenge Blog. We'll be watching for your entry! There will two winners chosen by Random Org who will each receive a Free digi and a Winner's Icon for their blogs. All of the S2G French Digis are available in the S2G Shop now.  Hop on over! They are FABULOUS!
