Rodeo Girl!

As you know I am in LOVE with SVG Cuts! I made a cowboy boot for my grandson, and my daughter asked that I make a "Girly" boot for my grandaughter. I decided that a boot turned into a lamp would be perfect! This is what I came up with! There is a cut out in the back where a battery operated candle can be placed, so the lamp actually lights up!
The entire lamp and decorations (with the exception of the lace border) were made using kits from SVG Cuts. The lace border is a MS punch.

The DP CS that I used for the lamp is "Rodeo Girl" (The Paper Studio) from Hobby Lobby. Here is a closeup of the shade. The lamp shade and base are from the Maison de Madeline kit. The shade was enlarged for aesthetic reasons to balance out the proportions of the other elements, but the basic shape of the lamp was not changed. The kit comes with fleur de lis shapes to place over the vellum cutouts in the shade. I changed the shapes to circles to match the wagon wheels. The wheels are gears from the clock in the Maison de Madeline kit. I cut off the edges of the gears to turn them into wagon wheels. The large flowers are from the Summer Holiday kit. The smaller flowers in the center are from Mom's Garden Gifts kit. Small rhinestones were placed in the center of each flower.

I'm really pleased with how the add ons to the base of the lamp turned out. The boot is from the Happy Trails kit.

I altered the original boot design by adding a strap across the front, a spur, and a flower on each side. The flowers are the same as the ones on the lamp. A smaller version of the gear was used on the spur, and the wagon wheel is a smaller version of the wheel on the lampshade. The spur and wheel were given dimension by layering several pieces of cardstock from The Paper Studio.

The bottom portion of the lamp is a small suitcase from the Summer Holiday kit. I LOVE the details that Mary included when she designed this item. It has corner protectors, a unique handle, and a small luggage tag. I placed a small piece of DP with a horseshoe in the center of the tag. The small flowers on the handle are the same as the ones set in the center of the large flowers.

Although it's not attached to the lamp, I just had to add a star box to complete the arrangement. The box is from the Vintage Paper Rosettes kit. I made the "Rodeo Girl" button by layering CS and cutting out one of the paper designs included in the CS pad.

This lamp was so much fun to design! I can hardly wait to give it to my grandaughter!

Five More Lamps!

I think this is my favorite kit so far from SVG Cuts!
I made five of these lamps as gifts for my sisters and sisters-in-law for Easter.

It's from Maison de Madeline. There is also a clock pattern. Yes, a clock you can make that actually works! The instructions for all five projects included in the kit are on a video at SVGCuts.com. Follow the live link HERE, and scroll down to the bottom of the page.
Mary will also have a new kit out for Mother's Day this weekend. Can't wait to see it!

A Victorian Kinda Day

Isn't this lamp adorable! I am in LOVE! Would you believe it's made entirely out of paper?
I purchased the template at SVGcuts.com. Actually it was free because they always have a special when a new template is introduced. Spend $9.98 or more and receive the new template FREE. Use the code FREEGIFT.
This new kit is Maison de Madeline, and it's free with purchase through Thursday. The kit comes with additional projects too: a card, two boxes, and a clock pattern. There is even a video on the website that shows you how to assemble the projects step by step!

The ribbon is Celebrate It from Michael's. The flower is Recollections also from Michael's. I found it in the clearance section in a package of six for $2.49. The tag was purchased at Archiver's (Graphic 45 Once Upon a Springtime collection). I used a 30% off coupon for the sheet.

The shade and base of the lamp was made using DCWV The Garden Tea Party stack, on sale at Michael's for $11.99, PLUS I had a 20% off coupon on top of that! I also used additional DP from the stack to cut the ribbon and lace. The lace is a MS punch. Vellum was placed underneath the fleur de lis, and luckily I had some in my stash. If you don't want this shape on your shade, you can choose another, or have no shape at all: just a plain shade.

Then I made a trip to the Dollar Tree to purchase a bag of clear glass pebbles to weight the base so the lamp wouldn't fall over. ( I used 12 glass pebbles.) The back of the shade has an opening and a base to place a battery operated tea light on. I found some at the Dollar Tree: two in a pack.
I put the whole thing together in about two hours while I watched TV.
I plan to make more of these adorable lamps. I think they will make great gifts! In case you are wondering, I am not on the SVG Cuts DT. I just LOVE their products!

An Egg-citing Spring!

Just had to share my latest creations that I made using SVG Cuts files!
I call these Art D-egg-O. I like the colors and charms on the black eggs especially.

Frilly Girly Eggs

Eggs for the grandkids. The one in the center is for my grandson. I didn't want it to look too girly.
This file is from the Poplar Street Tulips collection.
So fun and easy to put together and decorate! Buy two collections and you can receive the newest collection, High Skies, FREE with the code FREEGIFT.

My New Love!

Since all of my DT 's have moved on to bigger and better adventures, I have discovered a new LOVE!
SVG Cuts!
Here's what I made for St. Patrick's Day.

Hats made from the New Year's kit.

 CloseUp

Another CloseUp. So easy and fun to decorate with glitter CS, Buttons, sequins, ribbons, pearls, and flowers.

Of course, You must have a Pot of Gold to celebrate! The file is the cauldron from Party on Elm Street. The pot is filled with gold: Butterfinger candy bars and Werther's Butterscotch candies.... YUMMMMM!

These goodies are being shipped to my daughter and grandkids. I found the cute little dish towels at Target. Just Perfect for the holiday!

I have so enjoyed being a member of this amazingly talented team! The opportunity to work with such fabulous products has been a joy!
I kind of feel at loose ends, because this was my very last DT. The other ones I was on previously, all closed their doors in the last six months. Now I have time to devote to other projects:
Putting those hundreds of photos in scrapbooks
Making a Marching Band quilt with four years of my son's Band Tshirts
Learning how to crochet
Transfer VHS tapes (home movies) to DVD
Wallpaper the bathroom
I think I have enough STUFF to keep me busy!
I also LOVE making gift boxes, and I plan on making a lot of those as gifts for my children and grandchildren (filled with goodies, of course!)
I plan on keeping my blog and posting some of my projects in the near future. I may even enter a card challenge every once in a while!
Thank you to all my followers who have been here to view my blog and leave encouraging comments. You mean so much to me! Hope to see you soon in blogland! Hugs
