It's a Tooty Fruity Challenge this Week at Pixie Dust Studio!

Summer will soon be here, and fresh fruits will be in season! Strawberries are ripe for the picking here in the Sunny South! But I don't have strawberries on my card this week. I hadn't used "Going Bananas" yet from the newest Pixie Dust release Pixie Circus
He was all colored up and ready to go. All I needed was some banana print DP, but none was to be found. Plan B was to search on line for digital images of bananas to color. I found mine at www.coloringcastle.com. So I colored them, added pop dots, and placed them on a circle cut with a Creative Memories Circle Punch.
This is my sentiment in the inside of the card. Some days I feel like that!
What's your favorite fruit? Use it as inspiration and enter this week's challenge.
Link your project HERE for a chance to win a Pixie Dust digi of your choice. Need some images? Stop by the Pixie Dust Studio. There are so many adorable choices! For more ideas visit the blogs of our talented DT. Their links are in my sidebar.

Pixie Circus is Coming to Town!

It's almost here! Release Day for the Pixie Circus Collection is tomorrow in the Pixie Dust Studio!
Here are my Peeks for today:
This image is "Wink Blasts Off". Poor, brave Wink! He would do anything for the Pixies; even agree to being shot out of a canon! LOL I am in LOVE with this collection! It was inspired by the book/movie "Water for Elephants". My favorite!

It takes place in a Vintage era, so I had to add some Vintage touches to this card. I added some tags from Graphic 45, Le Cirque Collection that I found at Archiver's.

I punched some circles from red, striped DP, cut them in half, and glued them to a strip of red CS to simulate a Circus Tent. Then I added some Stickles for a touch of bling.
My next peek serves double duty as a sample for this week's Pixie Dust Challenge.
This week's challenge is "Back in Time". Create a Vintage style card or project.

This is "Circus Princess". Reese Witherspoon plays the part of Marlena in the movie. She wore mostly neutral colors in the film. I used neutrals on my card, but I couldn't resist adding some pink. The lace on the card is actually about fifteen years old, so I guess it's somewhat Vintage. :O  Pearls always seem Vintage to me, so I added some. The ribbon is MS. Ticket and DP are from Archiver's.
I hope you'll be inspired to enter this week's Vintage Challenge! Click on the links in my sidebar to visit the rest of the DT. They have some amazing cards showcasing the Pixie Circus Collection. Link your project HERE for a chance to win a Pixie Dust digi of your choice.

The "Pixie Circus" is Coming!

Today I have THREE Sneak Peeks from Kathy's newest collection from Pixie Dust Studio "Pixie Circus"!
Do you recognize him? Rob Pattinson/Edward (Swoon)! "Water for Elephants" was the inspiration for this collection and is also the name of this image. Rob can carry water for me whenever he wants! Giggle

Here's "Peanut the Elephant! Rob said that he fell in love with this co-star. Kathy's version is sooo adorable! I found some Vintage Circus paper and tags at Archiver's, and I thought they would be perfect for this release.
CHALLENGES:
Fuzzy Wuzzy- Baby Creations ( Include a baby animal as the focus)
Every good story needs a villian, but this one is just toooo cute! This image is "Ring Master". Another Vintage tag was perfect for this digital stamp.
Water for Elephants is my favorite book! I've read it twice, and I've already seen the movie with my youngest daughter during my recent visit. So you can imagine that I am beyond thrilled with this new release! Visit the blogs of our talented DT to see more images from this collection. Their links are in my sidebar. Please stop by tomorrow, and I'll have more peeks for you along with this week's challenge! See you then!

It's a Softpencil Anniversary Challenge!

And the theme is "Glitter and Rhinestones!'
I chose the image "Charming Flowers" from the Garden Collection. Such a fun image! Little Charmy is sprinkling Fairy Dust all around.

Of course, Fairy Dust needs to sparkle so I glittered it with silver Stickles. Red Stickles were added to the flowers, and green rhinestones were set in the center of the larger ones. Red Stickles were also added to her wings.
Then red rhinestones were added to Charmy's antennae.
This is such a fun challenge! Who doesn't LOVE glitter and rhinestones!!!
Help us celebrate Softpencil's three year anniversary, and enter your project HERE for a chance to win some goodies from the Softpencil Shop!  Check out the blogs of our talented DT for some amazing inspiration! Their links are in my sidebar. The Challenge begins Tomorrow! Good Luck!

Where Have I Been?

In the Great NorthWest, visiting my daughter and two adorable grandchildren!

Aidan, four

and Isla, six months.

I gave Aidan the "Little Red Ridinghood" Explosion Box that I made. We played together for two and a half hours, and then Aidan played an additional half hour by himself. I think he liked it!

We made cupcakes while I was there.

We were invited to two Easter parties (on different days). There were Egg Hunts at both.

Here is my daughter holding Isla. Isla is wearing the same Easter outfit that my daughter wore on her first Easter. My Mom made it for her. I wrapped it up and gave it to my daughter at Christmas. The tag said from Grandma, Sent on Angel Wings. (My Mom passed away years ago.) It was so special to me that Isla was able to wear it!

Isla is at the age where she smiles and laughs almost all the time. Aidan likes to play, and even cooks and crafts with me. Such fun ages! I was sad to leave!

"Make It Shiny" this Week at Pixie Dust Studio!

Do you like shiny things? Then this week's challenge is for you!  Add some silver or something metallic to your card or project.
I chose the image "Pint Size Chef" from The Goodies Collection. I think the little chef is so cute! I added silver Stickles to his tray.

I had some tiny little silver cookie cutters from Dress It Up Buttons that I thought would be just perfect for this card. I really like the way it turned out!
I hope you'll be inspired to enter this week's challenge. If you need inspiration, check out the talented Pixies' blogs. Their links are in my sidebar. Kathy also has many adorable images in the Pixie Dust Studio that are sure to inspire you! It's a "Starry Night" this week at Softpencil Studio!

Michu and Ratiny are swinging on the moon on this "Starry Night". This is one of Elizabeth's newest images from the "Sky Collection".

I colored the stars with gold Smooch and then applied gold Stickles. The larger stars were cut from glitter CS using a Creative Memories Star punch. I pulled some center threads from the yellow organza wired ribbon to gather it and then glued it to the card. A yellow satin ribbon was then added. Pop dots were attached to the back of the image for dimension. The punch is MS, and the DP is DCWV.
Softpencil has a three year anniversary this month! To celebrate, a challenge will be held on May 18.
The lucky winner will receive a $10 voucher to spend in the Softpencil Shop. Stop by the Softpencil Studio or the Red Bubble Shop to see what's new. You'll find this image and many more, along with hoodies, clothing, stickers, and Art prints. Need some inspiration? Stop by the blogs of our very talented DT. Their links are in my sidebar.

"Under the Sea" this Week at Pixie Dust Studio

Do you LOVE the ocean? I do! There's no ocean here in the sunny south, so I really appreciate seeing it on the rare occasions that I get a chance. Use the ocean or sea life for your inspiration and the color BLUE, and enter this week's Pixie Dust challenge.

I chose the digi "Mermaid and the Pearl" from The Pearl Collection. I also used a LOT of blue! Blue is actually my favorite color, but I end up using mostly pink on my cards. Go figure!!!

The blue wavy paper is an older sheet of Creative Memories paper. The lighter blue was purchased at The Dollar Tree and is by Miss Elizabeth. The "coral" was made with a MS punch and then coated with turquoise Stickles. I had some wired pearls left over from when I made my son's wedding cake, so I added them to the card too. I then added some pale blue wired ribbon that I gathered by pulling some threads out of the middle. Love that look! Of course, I had to add some pearls! The sentiment is from Shirley's 2 Girls.
I hope you'll enter this week's challenge! Link your card or project HERE. You could win a Pixie Dust Studio digi of your choice and a Star Winner's Badge for your blog! Stop by the Studio and the blogs of our creative DT. Their links are in my sidebar. You'll be inspired!
