A Cat's Dream

This cat is Simon! He is a new digi image at Softpencil, designed by Elizabeth's sister, Natalia, and named by her niece, Celeste. It is "Thinking of Santa."When I saw this image the first thing I thought was, "What a great scrapbook page this will make!" This week's challenge is "Be Creative." I think the image forms the perfect frame for this picture of my sweet grandson which was taken last year on Christmas Day. I printed Simon out on DP, then shaded him with watercolor pencils, and embellished him with rhinestones and a ribbon. I punched the snowflakes out of glittered white CS using a MS punch. I also glittered Santa's fur and beard and Rudolph's antlers, but it doesn't really show up well in my picture. I scanned my project instead of taking a photo this week. I also added doodles and accents with a silver gelpen. Check out Elizabeth's Softpencil blog and Etsy shop to see all of her cute digis. She even has brand new calendar images!
I hope you'll join us this week at Paper Craft Planet! It's time to get creative! If you need some inspiration check out the very talented DTmembers' blogs. Their links are in my sidebar.
I would also like to wish everyone a very Happy Thanksgiving Day!

Look Out Below!

Today is Thursday, and you know what that means! It's Softpencil
Preview Day! Isn't this image adorable! It is called "Michu is Giving
Gifts Away." Michu is the little cat and his mouse friend is Ratiny.
Read all about the real Muchula who was the inspiration for Michu
here. I colored Michu to look like one of my cats who is no longer
with us. Danny Boy had a gray spot over one eye and a white face
and paws. The challenge this week is to add "golden touches." My
gold was cut from glittery CS from The Paper Studio. I used MS
punches. Rhinestones were added to the large snowflakes. I found
the presents in the Hot Spot bin at Archiver's. They are buttons from
"Dress It Up." I used a gold gel pen to add highlights to the image,
and MS glitter was added to the Santa hat. A Fiskar's Snowflake
plate was used to emboss the background. Michu is delivering gifts
as he flies through the air. BTW Michula turned three this week.
Happy Birthday, Michula!
I hope you'll join us at Paper Craft Planet this week. You could win
some of Elizabeth's adorable digis! Check out the new images in
Elizabeth's Etsy Shop. For inspiration visit the rest of the very

Cheers to You!

This is a digi image from Shirley's 2 Girls. The challenge was to use this sketch and add metal. I recently went shopping at Hobby Lobby, and I found these cute gold ornament hangers. I knew I wanted to use them on this card! I bought this newly released MS punch "pine needles" at Michael's. I added rhinestones and satin ribbon. I decorated the trim on the girl's sweater set with Doodlebug Crushed Velvet Flock mixed with MS Glitter. More accents were added with Stickles and Glitter Gelpens. CS and DP is
from "The Paper Studio.
The card fits these challenges:
1. Shirley's 2 Girls- sketch + metal
2. Cupcake Craft- digital images
3. Cute Card Thursday- "Glitter Me Silly"
4. Cute Daisy May- "Touchy, Touchy"

Happy Birthday, A!

My one and only grandson has a birthday coming up very soon. My daughter is planning a party, and I volunteered to make the invitations, centerpiece, and party favors. A LOVES cowboys, so that is the theme. I posted the invitations previously on my blog here. I once again used Billy, (Images © Pink
Cat Studio). I couldn't resist replacing Billy's face with A's on the centerpiece.I made pillow boxes to hold treats. Hubby looked at them and asked, "Where are the cherry pies?" LOL He thought they looked like McDonald's pie boxes!

This is the front of the centerpiece. I used the digital image on the front...

and the rubber stamp image on the back.  The centerpiece is a paper mache box that I found at Hobby Lobby. I decorated it and turned it on its side.I packaged everything up. I left the pillow boxes flat, so they wouldn'tget crushed, and scurried off to the post office. When I returned home,What did I see? One pillow box lying on the floor! I placed it an envelope, and because it was "thick" I had to use two stamps. Has anyone else had cards returned for additional postage because they were too "thick?" So
annoying! Now I have one project left, and that is to make a mini scrapbook with pictures from the party.
This project also fits a challenge! Yay! Allsorts Challenge is to make something for a child.

Bling! Bling!

Never before in my life have I used so many rhinestones on one card! I LOVE
this cute image from Shirley's 2 Girls! I really like how my homemade flower
turned out. I cut circles of tissue paper in two different sizes, scalloped the
edges freehand, stacked, glued, twisted, and sprayed with Pearl Shimmerz.
I added accents on the card with glitter gel pens.
CS is Bazzill and DP is DCWV. Ribbon is Hobby Lobby Organza.
The card fits these challenges:
1. Cupcake Craft- digital images
2. Cute Card Thursday- Glitter Me Silly
3. Kaboodle Doodles- Buttons, Bows, and Bling
4. Cute Daisy May- Touchy, Touchy

Snowmen Have Laundry, Too!

Isn't this image just the cutest? It is a FREEBIE this week from Tracey at The Stamping Boutique. I love how his clothes and even his nose are hanging out to dry. I colored the image with watercolor pencils and added highlights with gel pens. The snow is MS glitter. The snowflakes are a MS punch. I glued silver wrapping paper to white CS and then punched out the snowflakes. The sentiment is my own.

CS is Bazzill, DP is Miss Elizabeth, rhinestones are Studio 18, and ribbon
is Hobby Lobby.
The card fits these challenges:
1. The Stamping Boutique- Use Tracey's image + snow
2. Stamps and Smiles- sketch
3. All Sorts- "Bring Out Your Bling"

A New Butterfly!

It is Softpencil Preview Day! This week we were given one of Elizabeth's newest creations, this cute little Butterfly Girl! I LOVE her! Elizabeth also designed the paper and the sentiment. Her talent is just amazing!
Look at the detail on her wings! I was looking forward to coloring her. I used watercolor pencils and glitter gel pens. I have a closeup so you can see the design better. Also, the glitter doesn't really sparkle in the larger photo. I cut the butterflies out with a MS punch. Then I embossed them with a Swirls Provo Craft folder and distressed them with white ink. Check out the other DT members' creations, and join in the fun at Paper Craft Planet for a chance to win some free digis! Elizabeth even has some freebies for you! Check out the new Christmas digis here.

We Felt Like Princesses!

My two daughters and I spent the night in Port Townsend, WA. We stayed at Manresa Castle. It was a wonderful experience! Because it is not peak tourist season, we got a great price! This is the right side (older section) of the castle.
This is the left side (newer section) of the castle.

Our room  was on the second floor in the older section. It is
pictured above. We had windows across the front of our
room and a side window. From the front windows, we
had a view of the ocean and Canada.

I took this photo from the room through the glass.

We had a two bedroom suite, with a walk-in closet,
sitting area, and a large bathroom. Lace curtains were
hung at the window, and the bedspreads were a
beautiful polished cotton brocade. The entire hotel
is decorated in a Victorian style with many authentic
period pieces.
This picture was taken of the three of us in the Library
right across from the front desk.
"Ah don't reeeely think ah have much of a suuuuthen
accent, but the man at the desk thought ah diyud!"
He started naming southern states trying to guess where
we were from. My girls and I started out in the same
place, but now we are in three different time zones.
It was so nice to be able to hang out this week, talk,
eat, and shop.

We ate at the Fountain Cafe. We ordered brie and three
kinds of sandwiches. Then we split everything. Yum!
After that we visited the quaint little nearby shops.
I look forward to the next time when we can all be
together again!

Michu and His Happy Flowers

It's Thursday: Softpencil Challenge Preview Day! This week the DT was given Elizabeth's cute digi stamp, Michu and His Happy Flowers. The challenge was to use flowers on the card. I cut the cute little faces out of the digi stamp flowers and glued them on to paper flowers. I added pearls to the larger flowers at the bottom of the card. I also used flowered CS from The Paper Studio. Michu is Elizabeth's cat. I like to make him look different on each card. Last week he was a Calico cat, and this week he is a Tabby. Come
join in the fun at PCP! Elizabeth has free digis you can use to play. You could even win a prize! Check out my sidebar to see what the rest of the DT has created!

Flutter By, Butterflies

Lauren Meader is the Guest Challenger this week at Limelight Papercrafts! The challenge is to use the sketch and add butterflies. All of my paper is from The Paper Studio. Ribbon and sentiment are from Hobby Lobby. The butterflies were cut and embossed with a Nestie, then colored with watercolor pencils and decorated with Stickles. Stop by Limelight and see Lauren's card!
